Today I met a wonderful cook named Donna at the EECOM conference held at St Eugene's Resort in Cranbrook. She was the first hotel staff person I had the pleasure of engaging with. This hotel is a former Residential School.
We are very excited about the new lab in the Sherman Jen building! The floor-to-ceiling windows mean we have a lot of a natural light at all times of the day. The new vacuum system allows filtration to occur without the hazard of soaking your lab partner’s laptop.
The first three weeks of October see the Masters of Environment and Management students on campus at RRU for their annual residency. One of the highlights of the residency for me as the Program Head, is the Poster Session in which 2nd residency students present their posters introducing their proposed thesis research.
I have had the exciting opportunity over the past month to be working as a lab assistant in the science labs in the newly constructed Sherman Jen building. Working in new labs is something most people involved in lab work never get the chance to do. Constructing new lab spaces doesn’t happen often, so here at Royal Roads we are excited and very grateful to be using the new facilities.
